Lebanon

Inflation is so high in Lebanon that many artisans have no way to maintain their jobs and sell their products locally. For example, it costs potter Khaled half a month's salary to heat his kiln once, as electricity and petrol must be paid in US dollars, while he only receives Lebanese lira for local sales of his pottery. That's why The -able works with local artisans and supports them in selling internationally and thus getting foreign currency so that they can continue to support themselves and their families. Products in this category are made by talented artisans who are either internally displaced in Lebanon or by Syrian and Palestinian artisans living in Lebanon.
